Failed to Post Checks Due to Inactive Entity Record
While in the Check screen in Payroll, the user received the following error when clicking on the Actions - Post option for payroll checks:
Sage Intacct Payroll Posting Error: "Failed to post checks - Entity Top Level did not have an Active Record"
This typically will occur when a Project is being coded to during the current payroll check run that is missing setup information in Payroll for GL Mapping.
Check and make sure that jobs used that week have a GL mapping group assigned to them in the Jobs setup screen in Payroll
>Payroll > Setup >Jobs
Click on the project to open up the setup screen and under the Details tab check and make sure Journal Entry Mapping Rules have been assigned to that Project:
Suggestion: If unsure of what job it could be, try posting one employee at a time or a few at a time. You should only get this error when you select the employee with the job in question. From there you can review the details of that check and narrow down your search for which project(s) need to be looked at and updated.
