Many of our data tools built for Sage 300 CRE and Sage Intacct require a 32-Bit version of Excel. Most modern Microsoft Office installations default to 64-Bit. Use this article to switch from a 64-Bit to a 32-Bit version of Excel.
Check Your Office/Excel Version
1. Open Microsoft Excel
2. Go to File > Account > About Excel
Check the top line of the flyout box (highlighted above) to check your Excel version. If your version shows 64-Bit, follow the instructions below:
Uninstall Office
Uninstall Office from your machine using this Microsoft
article: Uninstall Office from a PC (microsoft.com)
Install 32-Bit Office
1. Once the uninstall is complete, sign in again to www.office.com and
select Other Install options
2. Click View apps & devices
3. Choose the language you want, select 32-Bit, then
select Install
4. Depending on your browser, select Run (in
Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer), Setup (in Chrome),
or Save File (in Firefox)
If you see the User Account Control prompt that says, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? select Yes
The install begins ...
2. Your install is finished when you see the phrase, "You're all set! Office is installed now" and an animation plays to show you where to find Office applications on your computer. Select Close
Activate 32-Bit Excel
1. To open the Excel app, select the Start button (lower-left corner of your screen) and type Excel
If you have Windows 8.1 or 8.0, type the name of an Office app on the Start screen.
2. To open the Excel, select its icon in the search results
3. When the Office app opens, accept the license agreement. Office is activated and ready to use
The Activation Wizard appears if Office has trouble activating. Complete the steps in the wizard to finish activating Office
